WHAT ARE THERMAL PROTECTORS？

Thermal protectors, also called temperature switches, temperature control switches, etc. It is a kind of temperature switch with bimetal disc as a temperature sensing element, when the electrical appliance is working normally, the bimetal disc is in a free state, the contact is in a disconnected state, when the temperature rises to the operating temperature value, the bimetal disc is heated to produce internal stress and act quickly, open the contact, cut off/turn on the circuit, so as to play a role in thermal protection. When the ambient temperature drops to the reset temperature of the protector, the contacts re-close and turn on the circuit.

HOW IT WORKS？

When the circuit works normally, the contact is in a closed state. When the rated operating temperature is reached, the bimetal discis deformed by heat and snap rapidly, cut off the circuit. After that, the device begins to cool down. When it reaches the defined reset temperature, the bimetal disc and the spring disc snaps back into its start position, the contacts will close again, and the device starts working again.
